Notes allow managers to document observations, reminders, or feedback directly on an employee’s profile at any time. This feature helps managers keep a record of employee performance, project feedback, or other important information outside of formal reviews.
Notes can be created and viewed by Managers and HR Admins only. Employees cannot view Notes added to their profile.

Notes Overview
Notes allow managers to add internal comments or observations to an employee’s profile. These entries can help track employee performance, highlight achievements, or document concerns that may be useful later during performance evaluations.
If a formal 1:1 meeting was conducted, creating a Check-In is recommended instead. Check-Ins are specifically designed to document manager–employee meetings.
Notes are commonly used to document:
- Performance observations
- Feedback on projects or tasks
- Employee successes
- Areas for improvement
- Reminders for future evaluations
Important details about Notes:
- Only Managers and HR Admins can create and view Notes.
- Employees cannot see Notes added to their profile.
- Notes can be referenced during the Performance Review process.
Creating a Note
Managers and HR Admins can create Notes for individual employees.
- Navigate to People.

Click Profile next to the employee you want to add a Note for.
- Open the Actions dropdown.

Click Add Note.
- Enter the Note details in the text box provided.

Click Submit to save the Note.
Viewing Individual Employees Notes
Managers and HR Admins can view the full Note history for any employee.
- Navigate to People.

Click Profile next to the employee you want to review.

Click Notes.
This page displays all active Notes recorded for the employee.
Deleting or Archiving Notes
Managers and HR Admins can remove Notes when necessary.
- Locate the Note you want to remove.
- Click Actions next to the Note.

Select Delete.
HR Admins will see the option to Archive instead of Delete.
Restoring an Archived Note
If a Note is archived in error, HR Admins can restore it.
- Navigate to People.

Click Notes.

Select the Archived tab.
- Locate the Note you want to restore.
- Click Actions.

Select Restore.
HR Admins - View All Notes Across the Organization
HR Admins can view all Notes created across the organization.
- From the left menu, click People.

Select the Notes tab.
From this page, you can:
- Search for Notes related to specific employees
- Edit a Note you created
- Archive or delete Notes under Actions
- View Archived Notes
- Restore archived Notes if necessary
Manager - Accessing Notes During a Performance Review
Notes are a standalone feature but can be accessed while completing an employee evaluation.
Managers can review Notes during the evaluation process to reference past feedback and observations.

While completing an evaluation, click View Notes within the evaluation flow.

A new tab will open displaying all Notes recorded for the employee being evaluated.
Managers can use these Notes to help inform their performance review and reference previous observations about the employee.
